Wendy regularly attends specialist conferences designed to update and expand her knowledge in the field of nutrition and systematic kinesiology. Over the past few years the conferences attended have included the role of vitamin D in health by US expert Dr Michael Holick, Eye Health with US expert Dr Abel and Bone Building. In 2019 she attended the mast cells and mould AONM conference with mast cell expert Dr Lawrence B. Afrin, MD. She also attends the Allergy and Gluten-free show masterclasses for health professionals each year to keep up-to-date with the latest allergy research.

Wendy’s first career was in IT consultancy having graduated from Imperial College with a Masters in Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

 

Wendy became interested in nutrition after the birth of her first daughter. Age 6 months her daughter developed eczema and age 1 year she was diagnosed with glue ear. After some research she put her daughter on a dairy free  diet. Her daughter’s eczema and glue ear cleared up.

 

After the birth of her second daughter both Wendy and her daughter developed health problems. Wendy developed breastfeeding thrush and her daughter developed oral  thrush and experienced growth problems. They were both diagnosed with candida and adopted an anti-candida diet.After seeing the benefits to her own and family’s health Wendy started studying nutritional therapy. She has been seeing clients since 2006.

 

She has a diploma in Nutritional Therapy from the Institute of Optimum Nutrition in Richmond, founded by Patrick Holford.

 

Wendy is a British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional therapy (BANT) registered Nutritional Therapist. She is  committed to working by  their strict codes of ethics and practice.

 

Wendy is registered with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Association which is approved as an Accredited Register by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care.

 

Wendy has a diploma in systematic kinesiology from the Kinesiology Association. As part of her kinesiology training Wendy also gained a Diploma in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology. The kinesiology allows her to carry out on-the-spot food sensitivity testing and to test nutritional supplements on clients. She is also able to do structural fixes including spinal adjustments and cranial work.

 

Wendy has a keen interest in the link between nutrition and mental health and in 2013 gained a NCFE Level 2 certificate in Mental Health Awareness.

 

In 2014 Wendy gained an award in 'Preparing to Teach in the Lifelong Learning Sector' (PTLLS) at Sutton College and has subsequently taught at Sutton College.

 

Between 2015 and 2020 Wendy was a Guest Presenter at Champneys Forest Mere. She gave monthly talks and demonstrations on kinesiology and provided consultations at Forest Mere.
